Our nature is made up of 5 Elements in Vastu—fire, earth, air, water, and Ether!
In “Brahma’s creation,” the balance of these 5 Elements in Vastu in humans and buildings is considered positive.
Among the 5 Elements in Vastu, the first is Ether, next is Air, next is Fire, next is Water, and finally is Earth. In Vastu, to balance a building, attention is paid to the balance of the five elements. Vastu is the basis of these five elements, so every element should be in balanced quantities.
Ether: Man is surrounded by this infinite sky. In Vastu, Brahmasthan is the Ether element, that is, the center place of the 5 elements in Vastu. This is the navel and heart place of the Vastu Purush in the building. There should not be any heavy objects, pillars, staircases, toilets, kitchens, or stores here. Due to which digestive diseases and stomach problems occur. The Ether element establishes a relationship between people. Due to more Ether elements, problems of stress and depression occur. This is similar to Pishacha Dosha in the horoscope, in which Rahu and Moon are together. This is the most mysterious and expensive element. What troubles with unwanted powers? If it is balanced, it is auspicious in physical, mental, spiritual, material, and social life. These 5 Elements in Vastu balance our thoughts and processes. In Chinese, it’s part is also in the west direction, which is associated with the metal element. If it is balanced, one gets benefits along with progress in luck, ability to work, creativity, knowledge, and awareness of thoughts.
Air: The Air element is necessary for living and breathing. It is owned by Vayavya in the building whose nature is Rajas, and Vata causes diseases. Its balance in the building leads to growth in life and brings freshness, joy, courage, and happiness in life. In Chinese, this element belongs to the East. Balance here gives progress and an impressive personality to the person. The main quality of the Air element is touch, and Saturn is the planet of the Air element. Human beings will become ill without clean and fresh air because air contains oxygen, which is the lifeblood of human beings. Pisaka and Brahma sthan in the house are like the outer and inner skin of the house, and windows, doors, ventilators, and fans are like the pores of the skin.
Air is an unstable element; its basis is slow flow. Stagnant air produces a bad smell and gives birth to diseases that cause difficulty in breathing. One door in the building should not be exactly opposite to the next door so that the flow of air remains balanced. Employees in business or any company should not sit in the northwest direction, due to this causes their minds to remain unstable and prevents them from being able to concentrate on work. Keep any ready-to-sell goods here, and also keep the items used daily in shops and showrooms here. Cash or lockers should not be kept here; the money kept here does not remain stable. Due to junk or lockup here, there is a problem in breathing, and children’s education gets hampered, and the mind remains unstable in studies.
Fire: The function of Fire is to give heat and light. The main quality of Fire is our sense of sight, which is governed by eyes and colours. Sun and Mars are planets of the Fire element. Fire is rajas and gives pitta dosha. Only the right amount of heat can give birth to a living being, plant, or human. In Vastu, it is present in the east-south direction. This shows the flow of money in modern life and gives enthusiasm with confidence. It gives willpower and passion to reach the goal. The presence of a water tank in the southeast causes fire in the building, restlessness, and disturbed sleep. When it is balanced, fame and recognition are achieved, due to which the native gets self-confidence and power, and he is fully capable of earning money.
It can be in the form of a generator, electric items, red color, and a triangle in the building. This is the direction of Fire; a person cannot stay in a burning fire; similarly, if the bedroom is here, the native’s mind remains irritable and restless. Water resources, pipelines, and swimming pools should not be present here, which can cause problems like fire, accidents, theft, payment blocks, lawsuits, defamation, machinery breakdown, stress, and electrical equipment.
Water: Water is the lowest element among the 5 Elements in Vastu, whose quality is taste and juice, whose nature is Satvik, and which creates Kapha dosha. The Moon and Venus are the planets of the water element. Whose main direction is Ishan, i.e., northeast and North. The presence of fire here in the house reduces new opportunities, money, and work. The presence of water or blue color in this direction brings positivity. Due to which people can see life from a larger perspective and live a spiritual life. The nature of water is shy and flowing, and it wants to hide in the womb of the earth.
The selection of water is most important in Vastu. If it is near the foundation, it will create dampness in the house, and if it remains stagnant, it will create a foul smell. It is an unstable element of Satvik nature. This element gives new ideas, thoughts, opportunities, clarity of thoughts, farsightedness, and strong immunity. It can be in the form of a waterfall, a boring, a Mangal Kalash, a waterfall painting, a blue color, any source of water, an aquarium, or a swimming pool in the building. A flowing tap in the house also symbolizes waste or theft of money.
Earth: This element is mainly important for the 5 Elements in Vastu because we construct a building on the land only after selecting it. The shape of the earth is fixed, and its direction is southwest, and the planet is Rahu, whose quality is Tamas and stability. It is the element of balance, patience, health, and strength. Tamas means inactivity, laziness, and darkness. While constructing a building in Vastu, the land should be made sure that it is earthquake-resistant.
Mercury is associated with the Earth element, and the usefulness of the Earth is identified by smell. Balance of this element leads to success in work, behavior, relationships, and efforts. It can be in the form of something made of clay or stone, a yellow color, a crystal cluster, or a brown-colored object in the building. Closure, heavy machines, or stores here are also indicative of the Earth element. The presence of a basement, boring, slope, and underground water tank here is the cause of Vastu Dosh, which causes instability in life and financial loss.
