How to find Compass Direction in Vastu?
Vastu has a special effect on human existence, which is a proven fact. By knowing the specific principles of Vastu, man experiences prosperity in life. This not only increases his lifespan but also improves the health of the occupants. In Vastu Shastra, directions play the most important role. Compass Direction enables us to know whether the house is Vastu-compliant or not. Without knowing the directions of the house, we cannot detect the defects as per Vastu principles in the premises. If each Compass Direction is used and maintained correctly according to the rules of Vastu, and if we protect the resident according to Vastu by carefully planning all the directions of the house, he will enjoy prosperity, affluence, and a successful life.
How to check or find direction
People also find it difficult to identify the north, south, east, and west directions.
1.- How to find direction without a compass
East direction: The easiest way to find direction is to stand in the center of the plot and face the rising sun, i.e., the east direction, i.e., you are facing the east direction.
North direction: Raise your left hand to shoulder length; now, your left hand is pointing towards the north direction.
South direction: Similarly, raise your right hand; now, your right hand is pointing towards the south direction.
West direction: Your back is towards the west direction.
2.- How to use a compass to find direction?
If you follow Vastu Shastra and want to apply Vastu principles to your home, office, or apartment, you must know how to use a compass and use it to find the Vastu direction of a place. There are ten directions in every home, but their effect varies depending on their use and management. In ancient times, the planning and development of houses, mansions, villages, towns, and cities were done by applying the principles of Vastu Shastra.
In ancient times, people used to use the cone installation to know the north direction.
“To know the direction, you can take the help of a magnetic compass.”
The compass can be a handheld compass of about 2″ or 3″ in diameter. Study the compass carefully, you will see the following words printed on a circular scale that measures 360 degrees.
‘N’ inside the compass indicates the north direction
NE – indicates north-east direction
E – indicates east direction
SE – indicates south-east direction
S – indicates south direction
SW – indicates south-west direction
W – indicates west direction
NW – indicates north-west direction
Eight lines are passing through the center, and the angle between every two lines is exactly 45 degrees.
How to use a Compass Direction to find the North direction?
Go to the center of the plot whose Compass Direction you want to know. Clear an area of about 6″ by 6″ in the middle of the plot and make sure it is level. While using a compass, make sure there is no magnetic field in the center. Place the compass at a location of 6″ by 6″. You will see that the needle/pointer is at the center of the compass, with one end of the needle, which is red in color. The pointer vibrates and changes for a while before stopping in one direction. Now gently rotate the compass so that the letter ‘N’ comes under the red pointed needle/pointer. You will see that the needle is precisely aligned on the north-south axis, and the end points marked in red are towards the magnetic north. This is the true north of your plot.
When the needle stops and locates the magnetic north as mentioned above, rotate the compass and see if the arms of your plot are aligned with the axis. If not, gently rotate the compass so that the bisector of your plot comes to the letter ‘N.’. The degree difference between the needle marked in red and the letter “N” in the compass gives the deflection of the plot in degrees.
If the deflection is less than 10 degrees, you can proceed as per the correct alignment. If the deviation is more than 10 degrees, it is more beneficial to find the direction and areas in the form of a diagonal plot.
The following precautions should be taken while using a compass:
- Clean the Compass Direction glass thoroughly; its glass should be clear and visible.
- You should not keep any iron or steel objects like keys, etc.
- Make sure there are no electricity poles, telephone poles, railings, or other steel structures near you.
- Make sure the place where you are using the compass is at a proper level.
- When the needle stops, take the reading in the compass.
- Always look along the needle, not across it.
- When the compass is not in use, keep it closed with a lid.
- Make sure your compass and its needle are working properly.
